Cockhill Celtic Res – 2 (D McDermott & G Breslin)
Carn started well and when Donal Doherty found Dayton Cooke he crossed for Tiernan Coyne but he fired just over. Cooke then fed Conor Doherty who crossed for brother Dillon but his effort was well saved by Gary Robinson. The home side opened the scoring on 22 minutes when Niall McGuinness fired a free kick to the top corner from twenty five yards. Cockhill replied with Darragh McDermott seeing his effort turned around the post by Daniel McCallion. But at the end Carn went close with Cooke getting on the end of a McGuinness cross but heading just over. On the stroke of half time McDermott again fired just over from inside the area. Carn started the second period well and on 53 minutes Conor Doherty burst forward and fired a superb effort into the bottom corner from the edge of the area. The home side then made it three nil when Doherty released Dillon Cooke to round Robinson and slot home to the empty net. Cockhill then got a goal back when Alan Fletcher fed McDermott who fired to the top corner from fifteen yards. But Carn increased their lead again when Donal Doherty rounded a defender and fired to the bottom corner. On 84 minutes Dillon Doherty’s corner found Donal Doherty whose effort came off a defender but he fired the rebound home from ten yards. A Dayton Cooke corner rebounded off a defender and past Robinson to make it six one. Cockhill got a consolation late on when Gary Breslin rounded a defender and slammed the ball low into the bottom corner.
