Ulster Senior League – Donegal News League Cup
Drumkeen United – 0
Cockhill Celtic FC – 5 (J Bradley, D Doherty & G Friel (3))
Wednesday 30th June @ Drumkeen
HOLDERS Drumkeen bowed out of the league cup after a comprehensive defeat by league leaders Cockhill. The home side were missing a number of key men through injury but despite this they just about shaded the opening period and almost took the lead on 25 minutes when Richard Moore's 30-yard volley struck the bar. They should have took the lead on the half hour when Moore played a terrific ball through to Jude Patton who just missed the target with the keeper to beat. Cockhill took the lead on the stroke of half time when after a quick break down the right James Bradley stroked home a fabulous cross ball. Cockhill upped the tempo in the second half and ran out easy winners in the end with subsitute Garvan Friel helping himself to a hatrick.  Friel got his first with only his second touch of the game hammering a low shot to the bottom corner from 20 yards. Derek Doherty got number 3 when he tucked home a rebound after the home keeper had pulled off a fine save. Friel got his second from the spot after Kevin Boyle was adjudged to have handled. Friel rounded of the scoring with five minutes left when he smashed home a rebound from another fine save from McCauley in the home goals.
