Ulster Senior League – Four Lanterns Premier Division
Cockhill Celtic FC – 2 (L O'Donnell (2)
Fanad United – 2 (Lynch & Devlin)

Sunday 11th July 2010 @ St. Marys Park, Cockhill
COCKHILL captain Liam O'Donnell opened the scoring within 30 seconds after he latched onto a great pass from Jimmy Bradley to shoot low into the net past Darren Nash. Fanad responded well to the early goal and Brendan Devlin, up front on his own, made a great run into the area to unleash a shot that was heading to the top corner only for Stephen Conroy to get a strong hand and turn it over the bar. Cockhill double their lead on 9 minutes when Liam O'Donnell shot high into the roof of the net from 25 yards giving Nash no chance, O'Donnell putting a finishing touch to a good move that involved Jimmy Bradley and Malachy McDermott. Fanad although 2-0 down created a few chances, on 14 minutes William O'Connor cleared a dangerous ball into the Cockhill area from Paddy McGrenaghan with Devlin lurking just six yards out. Cockhills Stephen Conroy then tipped the ball over from an Arthur Lynch header after a cross from Paul McVeigh. On the half hour mark, Cockhills Gerry Gill crashed a 25yard free of the bar with the keeper stranded. The home side had a great chance to go 3-0 up on 35 minutes but Aiden O'Donnell shot wide, with only the keeper to beat, after he broke clear of the Fanad defence. Fanad responded and Devlin laid the ball for PJ Hagan to shoot wide from outside the area. The last chance of the first period fell to Cockhills Malachy McDermott but his low drive from 25yards went wide of the keepers left had post. The second period had as quick a start as the first with Fanad making the score 2-1. A free from Arthur Lynch went round the wall and into the corner of the net past keeper Conroy’s left hand post. The home team created another chance on 58minutes with Jimmy Bradley playing a ball over the top for Aiden O'Donnell to run onto but the resulting effort was high over the bar. Fanad leveled thing up on 75 minutes when a cross by Shaun McElwaine was not cleared and Devlin poked the ball home from inside 6 yards. Cockhill had another effort when striker Garbhain Friel shot over after a good break by Bradley. Friel had the last real shot on goal when he controlled a McDermott flick-on to volley wide from 30 yards. Cockhill pushed hard for a winner winning a few corners towards the end but the visitors Fanad defended well and held out for a point
